Korean and British Abstract Painting and the Digital Document
Korean Cultural Centre UK, London 24.2.2023 −14.4.2023
Digital reproductions of paintings cannot replicate the same experience as viewing actual artworks. The implications of this fact led to the initiation of a research project called ‘The Digital Documentation of Materiality in Painting.’ The project was a collaboration between Daniel Sturgis from the University of the Arts London, and Simon Morley from Dankook University and Woo Jung-Ah from POSTECH in the Republic of Korea. The project was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council Project of the UK (UKRI).
Midway through the project a workshop-style exhibition was staged at the Korean Cultural Centre UK in London, between 24th Feb and the 14 April 2023.
